God of the underworld or cartoon dog? For engineers at GE Vernova Research, it’s a bit of both! Meet PLUTO, a self-crawling robot that is designed to dive into aging pipelines to stop methane leakage, repairing them from the inside and reducing costs and time.
Methane has driven nearly a third of global temperature rise since the industrial revolution. PLUTO, an innovative robot developed at GE Vernova Research, self-crawls through aging pipelines, and it’s expected to efficiently repair leaks from the inside to help curb methane emissions and protect our planet.
